George Key School students and staff recently gathered in front of the school to cheer on the Placentia Police Department (PPD) and other community members as they ran the Special Olympics torch down Golden Avenue.
With signs of love and encouragement, students waved and cheered as PPD officers and staff, El Dorado High School track athletes, and Special Olympics track athletes ran in support of the event. Chief Lenyi and his crew took time to greet the students and even take photos with the George Key team.
“We are always happy to celebrate those in our community who are giving back, especially for an event so near and dear to our hearts,” shared Principal Kim Smith.
