In the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD), we strive for all students to demonstrate continued and improved academic achievement in order to emerge college and career ready. In an effort to support this focus area, the District hosted two college fairs the week of October 21-25.
On October 21, the annual California Out-of-State and International (COSI) College Fair took place at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House in Yorba Linda. Educators, guidance counselors, college and career coordinators, and administrators accompanied sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are interested in exploring dozens of out-of-state and international college options. Students from all PYLUSD high schools were invited to attend, as well as students from neighboring school districts.
Then, on October 23, the High School Counseling Department proudly presented the annual PYLUSD College and Career Fair. Hundreds of students and families took advantage of the event offered at the Yorba Linda Community Center.
College and Career Fair attendees had the opportunity to learn about 40+ college, university, trade/technical, and military schools with representatives in attendance. Schools in attendance included University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California, Riverside (UCR), California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), Arizona State University, University of Hawaii, Santiago Canyon College, Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, West Point, and many more!
The PYLUSD College and Career Fair also offered optional break-out sessions in order for families to learn more about crucial topics such as SAT/ACT test preparation and financial aide.
