Lakeview Elementary School’s 11th annual PTA-sponsored Science Fair and Family Night on Thursday, January 23 was a great success. This year’s theme was “Chemistry, Science in Your Element.” That evening in the school’s multi-purpose room, there were 57 student science fair projects on display, as well as dozens of activities and hands-on stations for families to enjoy together.
Valencia High School’s robotics team, TiGears, also joined in on the science fun and showcased their skills at the event. In addition, another 25 VHS students volunteered to assist at the school plus three “super seniors” who returned specifically to help with the event. Teachers Mr. Bilhartz and Mrs. Bonet generously donated their time to organize the Tigers and to support Lakeview families. Retired VHS teacher Hope Conant helped alongside Mr. Kirwan and the TiGears students.
One of the highlights of the community evening was when the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and honorable mention winners of the science fair were announced. Judging for the fair happened earlier that day with the help of Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District administrations, teachers, and staff including Dominique Polchow, Tamie Beeuwsaert, Connor Drake, Shea Runge, Will Truong, and Kathie Wessel.
Great job, Lions!
