The Tigers of Valencia High School were roaring at the annual California State Leadership Conference for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) in Ontario, April 7-9! The team from Valencia had 17 students qualify for competition at the National Leadership Conference in Chicago this June. The team also placed 11th in sweepstakes which is outstanding given the size of our team versus the teams finishing in the top 10.
Valencia continued to dominate the Economics event, Andrea Wang is the State Champion, Steven Segawa placed 6th, and Kevin Jeon rounded out the top 10. The team’s last trip to NLC in 2019 resulted in Chris Leung winning the National Championship and $1,000.
Alicia Ma is also a State Champion in the event Introduction to Financial Math. The following students earned a trip to Nationals with their Top 6 finish: Joseph (Alex) Kim Agribusiness, Michael Park Insurance & Risk Management, Daueni Lee and Aina Pan Introduction to Business Communication, the team of Erica Tobing and Clarissa Sung in Introduction to Event Planning, Amanda Liu Introduction to Public Speaking, the team of Michelle Kim and Sarah Lee Publication Design, and Clarissa Sung Political Science.
