On Wednesday, June 15, Yorba Linda High School (YLHS) held its 2022 commencement ceremony in Nathan Shapell Memorial Stadium where 460 Mustangs were awarded their high school diplomas.
Notably, 95% of those seniors have enrolled to continue their education in two or four-year colleges or universities following graduation. In addition, the YLHS Class of 2022 earned $2.5 million dollars in scholarships and 68 were identified as Silver Level Mustangs, which means they took a minimum of 8 honors/AP classes with a 3.5+ GPA and participated in four years of co-curricular activities.
The ceremony included honored guests such as Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Board of Education Clerk Leandra Blades as well as Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Superintendent, Dr. Jim Elsasser, Assistant Superintendents, David Giordano and Rick Lopez, Directors Gina Aguilar and Olivia Yaung, and Principal Dr. Richard Dinh.
Student speakers for the ceremony included Sahil Chekuri, Abby Pietsch, and Olivia Kenney. Congratulations, Mustangs!
