Buena Vista Virtual Academy (BVVA) held its 2nd annual graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 14, at the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Performing Arts Center. In total, the school awarded 78 students their high school diplomas including 72 12th graders, five 11th graders, and one tenth grader.
To begin the ceremony, Principal Jamie Jauch welcomed those in attendance including BVVA students, staff, families, and distinguished guests such as Board of Education Clerk Leandra Blades as well as Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Assistant Superintendents Rick Lopez and Richard McAlindin.
BVVA students Akash Shah and Joseph Menchaca then delivered student addresses in front of an energetic crowd of fellow graduates, loved ones, and staff members. Trustee Blades then accepted the Buena Vista Virtual Academy Class of 2022 as having met all the necessary requirements in order to earn their high school diplomas!
Notably, the Class of 2022 marks the largest graduating class in Buena Vista’s history, including when it was formerly La Entrada High School. Of the graduating students, 94% will go on to a two- or four-year college following graduation.
Buena Vista Virtual Academy is an online school that offers free 100% online and hybrid programs for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. BVVA is a supported independent study school perfect for students who want to learn on their own in a nurturing environment.
Congrats, Wolves!
Lovely ceremony!
