Since opening its doors in 2020, Buena Vista Virtual Academy (BVVA) has offered free, flexible, and personalized online educational opportunities to fit the unique needs of students in grades K-12. Located in Yorba Linda, Buena Vista Virtual Academy currently serves over 500 Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) students through a variety of fully online and hybrid learning options during the 2020-2021 school year. Students are taught by highly qualified credentialed teachers who are carefully selected experts in online learning and teaching.
Similar to a traditional school campus, Buena Vista Virtual Academy teachers, support staff, and administrators offer virtual and in-person office hours for additional student support. Students also have the opportunity to visit campus for exciting events that promote connectivity and a positive school culture. This year’s inaugural student body even had the chance to select the school’s mascot, a wolf (seen below).
