Yorba Linda High School junior, Anvi Bhagavatula, was recently honored with the President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award for her community service efforts! This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action.
According to the program website, the President’s Volunteer Service Award was founded in 2003 to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. Led by AmeriCorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light, this program allows Certifying Organizations to recognize their most exceptional volunteers.
In the spring, Anvi recruited and organized students to help with the Yorba Linda Women’s Club Spring Fair Easter Egg Hunt, an annual event that helps raise scholarships to benefit PYLUSD students.
Way to go, Mustang!
