Mark your calendars! The district’s annual Women in Industry event is coming in October

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) cordially invites you to attend the annual Women in Industry event on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. This inspirational evening will be geared towards empowering the next generation of leaders through 21st-century learning.

Families and students of all ages are encouraged to attend Women in Industry for the opportunity to learn from an esteemed panel of female captains of industry who represent diverse professional sectors including keynote speaker, Kelly Inouye-Perez.

Inouye-Perez is an eight-time National Champion—3 as a player, 3 as an assistant coach, and 2 as a head coach, amassing a winning percentage of .788 in her 15-year coaching tenure. She is beginning her 16th season at the helm of the UCLA softball program and has developed two Honda Sport Award winners, four Bruin Olympians, and 37 NFCA All-American selections as a head coach. Inouye-Perez’s .788 winning percentage ranks fifth amongst active head coaches in NCAA Division I Softball. On October 7, 2022 Coach Inouye-Perez will be inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame.

Inouye-Perez and other notable industry leaders will also participate on the panel and share firsthand experiences involving their journeys, positions, and successes through a ‘Q & A’ session.

Career Technical Education (CTE) Academy and CareerLink Pathway students will serve as hosts and moderators to the event in order to incorporate a student’s viewpoint with the professional perspectives of the panel members.

The PYLUSD Women in Industry event will take place Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the PYLUSD Performing Arts Center located at 1651 Valencia Ave, Placentia, CA 92870 and is free to the public.
