Fairmont Elementary School will mark its 50th anniversary the week of October 17-21, 2022. Planning has been taking place for some time and the school is looking forward to celebrating the rich tradition, history, and community that makes Fairmont such a great place for students to learn and grow!
On Tuesday, October 18, students and staff will dress up in their best outfits from the 1970s. Teachers will share pictures and stories about the year 1972 when Fairmont first opened its doors.
The main event will occur on Wednesday, October 19 at 8:00 a.m. with a ceremony featuring current and former staff and students, followed by a reception where guests can view memorabilia and artifacts collected for the past 50 years. Guests will be able to mingle, share memories, and enjoy light refreshments.
The following evening on October 20 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. the school will host a carnival centered around the 50th-anniversary theme. There will even be a special photo booth that they hope all current and former Fairmont Falcons will visit.
“We look forward to a memorable, fun-filled week and cordially invite all members of our district staff, families, community members, and alumni!” Principal Anne San Roman shared. “We hope you can join us!”
