The Orange County Register recently profiled El Dorado High School alumna Brooke Salas, highlighting her success playing women’s basketball for the New Mexico State University Aggies. Brooke received first-team All-Orange County honors as a junior and a senior at El Dorado. She concluded her final season at EDHS as the county’s third-leading scorer. She now starts as a freshman for New Mexico State, and averages 21 minutes per game. “I’ve seen a lot of good players,” said Aggies coach Mark Trakh. “But this kid’s got that ‘X’ factor. This kid’s special.”
