The event marked a significant milestone for the 24 students who were awarded their high school diplomas and the 18 eighth-grade students who were promoted.

Principal Dominique Polchow commenced the ceremony with a warm welcome to those in attendance, including Parkview students, staff, families, and distinguished guests. Among the guests were Board Vice President Todd Frazier, Trustee Carrie Buck, Assistant Superintendent Renee Gray, and Director of Special Education Gwen Redira. The Parkview Performing Arts group set a patriotic tone with their rendition of the national anthem.

Principal Polchow addressed the crowd, highlighting the unique opportunities that Parkview School provides. “As a Parkview graduate, you are ready to pursue your dreams as you have that pioneering spirit, ready to blaze your own trail,” she remarked, instilling a sense of pride and excitement among the graduates and attendees.

The ceremony began with the recognition of the eighth-grade students, who were celebrated with various awards, scholarships, and promotion certificates. Eighth-grade student Mika Garcia delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging her peers and setting a positive tone for their transition to high school.

The high school graduation segment of the event began with heartfelt addresses from Salutatorian Garrett Garcia and Valedictorian Toby Proctor. Their speeches resonated with the crowd, comprising fellow graduates, family members, and faculty, and were met with enthusiastic applause.

Before receiving their diplomas, the graduating students were honored with several prestigious scholarships, including the Presidential Awards, the Seal of Biliteracy, and the PLUM Scholarship. These awards underscored the academic and extracurricular achievements of the students.

Board Vice President Frazier formally accepted the Parkview Class of 2024, affirming that they had met all the necessary requirements to earn their high school diplomas. He delivered a heartwarming speech that acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the graduates. Notably, 87% of the graduating students plan to continue their education at a college or university, a testament to Parkview’s commitment to academic excellence.
