Congratulations to the winners in Rio Vista Elementary School mother’s appreciation “Why Mom Deserves a Diamond” contest.
The contest was founded in 1993 by Diamond Mike Watson in honor of his birthmother and adoptive mother. Today, the contest honors all mothers, and helps prepare students for a lifetime of success by building their self-esteem.
Through this contest, each Rio Vista student has earned a genuine African garnet or Brazilian amethyst. Winners will go to their store to recite their writings, then select and present a gemstone to their moms.
