Middle School Athletics Flag Football Season Concludes with Exciting Championship Matches

On Monday, January 27, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) hosted its third Middle School Athletics event of the year—a districtwide Flag Football Championship—at El Dorado High School. The competition featured 168 middle school athletes from across the district, who participated in spirited matches highlighted by incredible sportsmanship and athleticism.

Following six weeks of practice and competitive interdistrict scrimmages at the district’s middle schools, the top boys’ and girls’ teams from each school competed for the prestigious title of “PYLUSD MSA District Champion.” Participants ranged from students new to flag football to those with years of experience.

In an exciting finale, the girls’ team from Tuffree Middle School and the boys’ team from Yorba Linda Middle School emerged as champions. The Tuffree girls secured their title by defeating Yorba Linda Middle School, while the Yorba Linda boys triumphed over Travis Ranch Middle School in hard-fought matches.

The district extends its gratitude to El Dorado High School for graciously hosting the event and congratulates all participating teams for their dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season. The next Middle School Athletics season will feature wrestling, set to begin in late February.
