Valadez Middle School Academy Color Guard Earns First Place in Triumphant Return to Competition

On Saturday, March 29, the Valadez Middle School Academy (VMSA) Color Guard achieved a significant milestone by returning to competition under the leadership of coaches Karissa Carranza, Delilah Carranza, and Band Director Mrs. Jennifer Garcia. The team secured first place in the JHA Division at the Winter Guard Association of Southern California (WGASC) Competition.

This marked the Color Guard’s first competitive appearance since 2019. Under the steadfast direction of the coaching staff and Band Director Garcia, the team has diligently worked to recruit new members and enhance their Winter Guard routine. Their success reflects the dedication, perseverance, and collective efforts of students, coaches, families, and staff who have supported the program throughout the year. As the team prepares for future competitions, they remain committed to upholding the school’s tradition of excellence and representing the Valadez community with pride.
