Valencia High School Educator Named to Prestigious Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award Shortlist

Valencia High School teacher Mr. Calen Rau has earned international recognition as one of only ten educators from North America to be shortlisted for the esteemed Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award. This distinction highlights Mr. Rau’s exceptional commitment to student achievement and academic excellence.

Mr. Rau serves as the Head Coach of Valencia’s Academic Decathlon team, guiding students through rigorous preparation for one of the most challenging academic competitions in the nation. In the classroom, he teaches AVID 12, International Baccalaureate (IB) History of the Americas, and Cambridge History, demonstrating a broad and deep expertise in the humanities. His multifaceted teaching portfolio reflects a dedication to cultivating critical thinking, historical inquiry, and college readiness among his students.
