On Wednesday, October 22, the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce Foundation surprised El Camino Real High School senior, Ariana Mejia, by naming her the September Student of the Month.
Ariana exemplifies the Chamber of Commerce and Foundation’s core values of commitment, connection, courage, and community. Principal Gina Aguilar commended Ariana for her leadership and positive influence on campus, noting, “Ariana demonstrates the Chamber of Commerce values in many ways. She is part of the Leadership Class at El Camino where she plans events and school activites to help build connection and community on campus. She currently serves as the Student Board Member for Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District, serving as the voice for all high school students in the district. She is a role model on campus and leads by example by being conscientious about her academics, engaging in classroom discussions, participating in school activities and being a positive and respectful student.”
As part of the Foundation’s newly launched Student of the Month Program, Ariana received a $100 scholarship presented by Foundation President Anthony Johnson, Treasurer Kevin McCobb, Board Member Lynn Campbell, and Executive Director Susan Wan-Ross. Each month, the Foundation recognizes an outstanding student from a local high school who demonstrates academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement.
Congratulations to Ariana Mejia for this well-deserved honor and for exemplifying the leadership and excellence valued by both El Camino Real High School and the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
