Shea Galvez from Valencia receives ACSA “Every Student Succeeding” award

Shea Galvez, a senior at Valencia High School, received the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) “Every Student Succeeding” award at a special ceremony at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana on the morning of Friday, March 11.

Shea and other students facing significant obstacles were nominated by their respective school district in ACSA’s Region 17 (Orange County).

Valencia Principal Rick Lopez had this to say about Shea: “[She] has persevered through unimaginable challenges, yet glows with strength. She is a stellar student with a passion for computer science, and has emerged as a leader at her Boeing Internship and within our Val Tech Academy. She is a blessing to her school and all who know her.”

“Every Student Succeeding” is an important recognition program for students who beat the odds and are successful despite challenging barriers. Through this program, the ACSA is able to recognize both the students and the school leaders who have supported them.

In addition to a certificate and a proclamation, award recipients also receive two tickets to Disneyland. Congrats Shea!

Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Doug Domene surprised Shea in class with a PYLUSD Challenge Coin. Dr. Domene wanted to honor Shea for this special recognition from ACSA.
