On February 27, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) was recognized as a 2026 Top Employer by Chapman University, an honor that reflects the District’s ongoing commitment to cultivating a workplace culture rooted in excellence, collaboration, and professional growth. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kym LeBlanc-Esparza and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Chad McGough accepted the award from Chapman University on behalf of the District.
“Establishing a partnership with Chapman University has been highly beneficial to the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District, allowing us to recruit highly qualified graduates while providing meaningful clinical practice opportunities for student teachers, school counselors, and school psychology interns,” shared Dr. LeBlanc-Esparza. “Chapman University equips these future educators with the skills necessary to support our mission of empowering the next generation of learners to be responsible, ethical, and contributing citizens.”
This recognition highlights PYLUSD’s dedication not only to student achievement, but also to supporting and empowering the employees who make that success possible each day. Through internships, professional learning opportunities, and a culture that values innovation and collaboration, PYLUSD continues to prioritize an environment where educators and staff can thrive.
As PYLUSD continues its strong partnership with Chapman University, this recognition further reinforces the connection between higher education and K–12 public education, ensuring that future educators enter a district committed to supporting their success from the very beginning.
Together, PYLUSD remains focused on investing in its people, recognizing that when educators and staff are supported, students and families benefit most.
