On Tuesday, March 22, elementary students, parents and teachers from Travis Ranch School – with help from Board of Education President Judi Carmona and Travis Ranch PTA board members Aimee Firouznam and Eileen Ball – handed out books to each child in attendance at the Melrose Elementary School monthly Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County distribution event. Students from Travis Ranch collected gently used books to distribute to every eager reader at Melrose. Thanks to Travis Ranch for their generosity! They will be doing the same at Topaz Elementary School at their distribution event in April.
Additionally, over 150 Melrose families received fresh produce, vitamins and cooking oil from Giving Children Hope of Buena Park, new shoes from FOCUS International, diapers from Church of Grace of Yorba Linda, and additional food items from PYLUSD administrators.
The PYLUSD McKinney-Vento program accepts donations from a wide variety of individuals and organizations. If you would like to make a donation or have suggestions for future donations, contact Jon Matson by phone at 714-986-7280, or by email at jmatson@pylusd.org.
