Valencia High School Senior Awarded Prestigious $60,000 Burger King Foundation Scholarship

On Tuesday, May 26, Valencia High School senior Irene Pan has been awarded a prestigious $60,000 scholarship through the Burger King Foundation Scholars Program, one of the largest scholarship initiatives supporting students across North America.

The scholarship was presented in recognition of Irene’s outstanding academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and dedication to her future educational goals. As one of the program’s top scholarship recipients, Irene joins a distinguished group of students selected through a highly competitive application process.

The BK℠ Scholars Program awards scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $60,000 to help offset the cost of attending college, university, or post-secondary vocational and technical programs. Scholarship recipients are selected based on several factors, including grade point average, work experience, extracurricular involvement, financial need, and community service.

Since its inception, the Burger King Foundation has awarded nearly $64 million in scholarships to more than 54,000 students throughout North America. In 2024 alone, the Foundation distributed more than $4.5 million in scholarships to nearly 4,200 students.

Irene’s achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence that Valencia High School students demonstrate both inside and outside the classroom. Her recognition serves as an inspiration to fellow students pursuing their academic and career aspirations.

Congratulations to Irene on this remarkable accomplishment and well-deserved honor. The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District wishes her continued success as she embarks on the next chapter of her educational journey.
