Tynes Elementary School was excited to host three “Principals for the Day” on Friday, April 22. Kate Tachikawa, Kaylie Waterhouse and Samantha Funes were the top three fundraisers from the Jog-a-Thon held last February. They had a breakfast meeting with Principal Debra Silverman and Assistant Principal Christa Borgese, and then spent the morning visiting classrooms to witness their fellow Tynes Tigers doing the “right thing, at the right time and in the right place.” The three principals were impressed with the quality of instruction, and the engagement of the students. After recess duty, the three girls presented Principal’s awards, took a safety tour of the campus and compiled a list of concerns to be addressed. During lunch at IHOP, they were joined by the Jog-a-Thon raffle winners: Omar Rubio, Gage Gutierrez and Colin Bernardo. Special thanks to the three “Principals for the Day,” and to all Tigers for their amazing fundraising efforts. Here come more Chromebooks!
