Over 200 Chinese exchange students spend four weeks at Valencia this summer

Valencia High School was proud to host approximately 200 Chinese exchange students at a four-week program held on campus this summer. The program was coordinate by Valencia science teacher Connor Drake, with the help of several PYLUSD teachers, including Samantha Kuchwara, William Truong, Brady Bilhartz, Alyson Dixon, Sarah Davila, Corinna Harnett, Rebecca Bonet and Leina Rizzo.

The Chinese students worked alongside 100 VHS volunteers who earned more than 4,500 hours of community service. Volunteers included Valencia International Baccalaureate (IB) and AVID students who were given the opportunity to plan and independently run elements of the program. Students participated in labs, games, team building activities, art projects, competitions, ESL classes and much more!
