On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Topaz Elementary School held its second monthly Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County food distribution event of the year. Families not only received fresh produce – which is offered on a monthly basis – but several kindergartners and first graders also received bags full of school supplies donated by the district’s community partner, K to College. K to College is a nonprofit dedicated to providing school supplies to low income children across the state. PYLUSD’s McKinney-Vento liaison Jon Matson commented, “We are so fortunate to have great partnerships like the one we have with K to College. This organization has donated so many school supply bags to our most needy students. They made a large donation to us again this year, and we will be distributing many of them at Melrose Elementary School later this month!” Thank you to all donors, and to the volunteers who help distribute the food!
