El Dorado teacher Sunshine Cavalluzzi to speak at SXSWedu

Sunshine Cavalluzzi, a social studies teacher at El Dorado High School and former Orange County Teacher of the Year, was invited to speak on a special panel at the upcoming SXSWedu Conference & Festival.

Out of 1,300 proposals submitted by teachers looking to take part in this prestigious event, only about 250 were selected, including Sunshine’s. The support Sunshine received through peer votes and comments was tremendously impactful.

“I am, as always, so incredibly appreciative of the support from my Hawk colleagues and school community,” said Sunshine. “I’m thrilled to have the chance to be a part of the conference, and am even more thrilled to be able to serve as an ambassador for the great things that happen here in our district every single day, as well as the creativity that all of you bring to our mission to serve and empower our students!”

SXSWedu fosters innovation in learning by hosting a diverse and energetic community of stakeholders across a variety of backgrounds in education. This year’s conference is being held from March 6 through March 9, 2017, in Austin, Texas.
