PYLUSD places a high priority on the safety of its students. On Tuesday, Feb. 7, the Board of Education formally recognized Deputy Neal Holmes from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department with the district’s “You Are The Advantage” award.
Deputy Holmes has served as School Resources Officer (SRO) for Yorba Linda schools for the past several years, and his leadership has been instrumental in ensuring the safety of the community. From day one, Neal made it clear that his top priority was to provide the highest level of service to students, parents and staff.
PYLUSD has benefited from Neal’s expertise, as he has provided innovative safety protocols that reflect the latest “best practices” in emergency preparedness. Neal was instrumental in both the development and staff training of lockdown procedures. He has also played an active role in the district’s Parent University program, including offering student, parent and staff presentations on current drug trends and internet safety. In addition, Neal served as a consultant on the district’s Safety Committee. Through his leadership, staff was able to establish new safety protocols based on police-approved practices.
Congratulations to Neal for earning this prestigious honor!
