Congratulations to Esperanza High School (EHS) student, Ben Tecker, for being selected as a 2018-19 Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers Luminary!

On April 10, representatives from the Disneyland Resort surprised Ben with the news on Esperanza’s campus. With this distinction, the Aztec has earned a $1,000 for his school, $3,000 for a non-profit of his choice, and an $11,000 college scholarship!

The Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers Program recognizes high school students in Anaheim making a difference in their communities and schools. The title of “Luminary” is the program’s top achievement, and is only awarded to five students each year.

Ben’s special recognition comes as a result of his hard work in helping to create the Orange County High School eSports League to foster friendships and provide fun learning opportunities for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, or STEM.

“I’m really fortunate to have this opportunity. I am definitely going to go into a four-year college and will pursue my passion in eSports,” Ben shared that day.

Keep shining, Aztec!
