On Thursday, March 2, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) held its third middle school sports event of the school year with a districtwide basketball tournament at El Dorado High School. Teams from all six middle schools competed in 4-on-4 and 3-on-3 games in a round-robin and elimination-style tournament.

Over 200 6th, 7th, and 8th graders took part in the competition. The eventual winners were the Tuffree Middle School boys team and Yorba Linda Middle School girls team.

The event was hosted and supported by the El Dorado High School womens and mens basketball programs including refereeing, organization, and general volunteering. El Dorado’s principal Joey Davis and athletic director Ray Elliot were also instrumental in planning the tournament and making it a fun time for all middle schoolers involved!
