PYLUSD offers opportunity for public to review several curriculum items recommended for adoption

Curriculum materials

On March 13, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District opened a 30-day public review of several curriculum items recommended for adoption and implementation in the 2023-2024 school year. The review display will be set up at the PYLUSD district office, and members of the PYLUSD community will be able to visit the display to review hardcopy and digital materials during office hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday This excludes Friday, April 7, as the district office will be closed in observance of Easter.

The display will include the following curriculums recommended by our teacher pilot teams: 

History/Social Science

  • Grades K-5: TCI’s Social Studies Alive
  • Grades 6-8: National Geographic’s World History: Ancient Civilizations, World History: Medieval and Early Modern Times, and U.S. History American Stories: Beginnings to World War I

High School Health

  • Goodheart-Willcox Essential Health Skills for High School 4th Edition

The display will also include one core reading list novel: Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi. Those visiting the public review display will be able to submit feedback and/or comments through a digital feedback form. The 30-day public display will conclude on April 11.
