Assistance League of Fullerton donates much-needed supplies to McKinney-Vento program

Recently, PYLUSD’s McKinney-Vento program was fortunate to receive a very generous donation of over 300 toiletry kits from the Assistance League Professional Humanitarian Auxiliary (ALPHA) – the women’s auxiliary of the Assistance League of Fullerton – whose mission is to work with and support local communities by helping families (particularly children) in need. These kits were filled with shampoo, lotion, combs, hairbrushes, toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap. They are perfect for distribution to our needy students – the program has already distributed kits to both Tynes and Melrose elementary schools. Jon Matson, the McKinney-Vento liaison for PYLUSD, mentioned, “We are so fortunate to have organizations like ALPHA reach out to us. Their efforts help us stretch our grant dollars, and allow us to focus on much-needed programs for our less-fortunate students. Thank you ALPHA and especially, Ann Ehl and Robin Hardy, our amazing contacts at the organization!” Hygiene can be challenging for families who are in transition, and this wonderful donation really helps PYLUSD help its students.
