Kraemer 8th grader organizes large donation to local homeless shelter

Kraemer Middle School 8th grader, Chloe Chia, attended a Global Awareness camp this past summer and became interested in organizing a local service project to combat poverty and homelessness in Orange County.

Recently, Chloe was able to connect with Bridges at Kraemer Place, a new shelter in Anaheim that strives to meet the housing needs of men and women in North Orange County.  With the help of Kraemer teacher, Mrs. Collins, and the school’s student body, Chloe was able to donate over 280 individual care packages to this local shelter.  These packages included a durable drawstring bag with necessary hygiene products and a warm blanket. Kraemer students donated care packages of their own and an extremely generous donation was made that provided the means for students to assemble 120 more care packages during Kraemer’s PRIDE enrichment program.

Chloe and her parents are grateful for all of the individuals who participated in her project. This holiday season is an excellent time to reflect and give a helping hand to the community.
