The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District challenge coin is presented to PYLUSD employees and community members for outstanding service to our district.
After attending a “Super Saturday” at Kraemer Middle School on Saturday, Dec. 12, in which over 200 students attended, Board of Education President Judi Carmona wanted to present a challenge coin to teacher Shane Twamley.
President Carmona visited Mr. Twamley’s second period class, and spoke to students about how the “Super Saturday” program is helping forge strong connections for kids on our campus. This program, under Mr. Twamley’s leadership, has engaged kids from all parts of our school, and continues to be something that creates a sense of community and buy-in for many kids who often struggle in different aspects of their lives.
Congratulations, Shane! Your hard work with “Super Saturday” is really making a difference for kids.
