The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) has announced its “You Are the Advantage” Employee of the Year awards for the 2017-18 school year.
The nine recipients were nominated by one or more of their colleagues or supervisors, who detailed the significant contributions they provide to the district. The nominating individual also described how the candidate demonstrates the district’s four core values of excellence, collaboration, integrity, and innovation.
“On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to congratulate all nine of our dedicated Employees of the Year,” shared Superintendent, Dr. Greg Plutko. “These individuals embody the spirit of servant leadership, and their passion in giving back to our students is undeniable. I am proud of their commitment, creativity, and collaboration … they embody the best of our district.”
PYLUSD has a long-standing tradition of surprising its Employees of the Year at their school sites or departments. On February 1, the district’s executive leadership team traveled from site to site on “Prize Patrol” to honor this year’s winners.

“The Employee of the Year Selection Committee made their choices after reviewing all of the compelling nominations, said Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Kevin Lee. “PYLUSD has the best and most caring employees, so the task of making this final selection was very difficult.”
The winners will also be recognized at the PYLUSD Board of Education meeting on February 13, 2018.
