Students in Mrs. Pages’ 3rd and 4th combination class at Sierra Vista Elementary School recently had an exciting visit from science students at Chapman University in Orange.
With Sierra Vista’s theme of college readiness in mind, the Chapman students demonstrated a hands-on science experiment called “Elephant Toothpaste,” where a chemical reaction takes place when a liquid catalyst touches another liquid. Sierra Vista students were thrilled to see the experiment in real time, and also have the opportunity to wear lab coats, safety goggles, and gloves.
The college students finished their visit by gifting each Sierra Vista Eagle a Chapman pennant, pen, and brochure.
“The student from Chapman were enthusiastic, and did a great job,” shared proud principal, Shirley Fargo.
Thanks for your continued partnership, Chapman Panthers!
