George Key School celebrated and thanked their local Placentia Police Department on Patriot Day. As students from Venture Academy helped to lower the flag, students and staff participated in a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Using assistive technology and visual supports, the students read a story in remembrance of 9/11, and shared why we celebrate local first responders then and now. The officers were presented with cards and signs, and joined the students and staff for photos and cookies.
“We are grateful for our Placentia Police Officers for keeping our city and our school safe,” shared George Key principal, Kim Smith.
