Rain and snow didn’t keep the El Dorado High School Dance Team from traveling to Las Vegas February 21 to 24 to compete in the World Class Dance Nationals. The competition hosted 25+ schools that traveled from various states throughout the Southwest, offering a great opportunity for the team to see and compete against talent from around the country. The team of 24 Golden Hawks danced their hearts out, earning 1st place awards for all seven dances and being named Grand National Champs with the highest average score/ranking for the entire competition!
The team soloists all came away as winners with the following dancers earning specific awards:
Sydney Serrano – 1st place overall and high point winner in jazz
Hailey Stoller – 2nd place overall, high point winner in lyrical, judges choice award
Taylor Elliot – 3rd place overall
Ava Siniscalchi – 4th place overall
Liz Louie, Top 8 and best costume
Madelyn Gallagher – Top 8 and most innovative choreography
In addition to earning 1st place in their category with each dance, the following designations were awarded to the team’s specific dances:
Judge’s Choice Award –Medium Lyrical
Category Champions: Pom, Lyrical, Contemporary and Jazz
Highest Scoring Group Dance Overall — Extra-Small Jazz
Highest Average Ranking
