The Orange County Register has named El Dorado High School football coach Zack LaMonda as Coach of the Year. This recognition for Coach LaMonda comes on the heels of the Golden Hawks’ impressive season, which included a 8-6 overall record and a 2-1 finish in the North Hills League. They also reached the CIF Southern Section Division 7 final this season, the program’s first section championship game since 2007.
“Our guys stayed true and listened to the coaching staff,” said LaMonda. “We played in some exciting games, like beating a good Laguna Beach team in the playoffs on the road, and there was that crazy semifinal double-overtime game. We kept fighting all year.”
