It was a great night in the E.D. Law Academy at El Dorado High (EDHS) on Thursday, March 7 during the school’s inaugural “Legal Thunder” event. Sixty seven Golden Hawk students participate, including a number of the school’s incoming Class of 2023 freshman, and they rotated in groups to a panel of civil attorneys. This included two civil litigators and a labor relations attorney, a panel of criminal attorneys, two district attorneys, one public defender, one criminal appellate attorney, and a panel of auxiliary legal professionals.
Each group had two student moderators who started each session and then facilitated a town hall format for the students to ask questions of the panelists.
Notably, four of the legal professionals who participated are EDHS alums and four are parents of incoming freshmen.
“Our Hawks asked great questions, our panelists gave interesting and informative answers, and both students and professionals alike had a truly Hawktastic evening,” shared E.D. Law Coordinator, Sunshine Cavalluzzi.
