With Memorial Day around the corner, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) has launched a campaign in order to locate former students who may qualify for retroactive high school diplomas.
The District may authorize retroactive high school diplomas to former students who are veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, and to former students who were interned during World War II. The individual must have been enrolled in the District immediately preceding the military service or internment, and must not have received a diploma because his/her education was interrupted as a result.
Also, the District may retroactively grant a diploma to a deceased former student who satisfies the above conditions. The diploma shall be received by the deceased student’s next of kin.
The District is very eager to talk to individuals that meet the above criteria. If the above guidelines apply to you or someone you know, please call or email the District’s Communications Office at (714) 985-8402 or agriffiths@pylusd.org.
PYLUSD looks forward to hearing from potential retroactive diploma candidates!
