Travis Ranch School recently hosted its First Annual Battle of the Books competition! Students in grades 3-5 made teams of two to four students each. A total of 84 students competed.
The teams read and studied the book that was chosen for their respective grade levels. Contest rounds consisted of five questions each and featured progressively harder questions in a single-elimination, tournament-style bracket.
Almost 150 family members and friends attended to cheer on their favorite teams. It was an exciting afternoon where students got to show off their love for reading.
This event was made possible because of the tremendous support of Travis Ranch School’s PTA, including parent Heather Siemons, and the school librarian, Mrs. Stephanie Yamashita.
According to Assistant Principal Anne San Roman, students are already talking about next year’s competition and getting their teams formed!
