On Tuesday, June 4, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) celebrated its retiring certificated and classified employees with a special recognition ceremony during the Board of Education meeting.
“Tonight we pause to honor and express gratitude for our retirees and their careers that have been devoted to serving the students, staff and families of our PYLUSD community,” shared Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Rick Lopez.
Loved ones, fellow staff members, Board members, and District administrators gathered to hear Human Resources Directors, Nancy Blade and Cara Robinson, introduce each retiree and share memorable moments from their careers.
“Our retirees recognized tonight have collectively provided PYLUSD with an amazing 590 years of service. During those years, thousands of students have been in your care and we are grateful for the positive impact you have had in their lives,” Lopez noted.
Although emotional at times, the evening was a cheerful, festive way to end the retirees’ dedicated careers in the PYLUSD.
