For the 2nd year in a row, El Dorado High School’s Vocal Ensemble has been selected to sing in the mass choir at Disneyland’s annual Candlelight Ceremony & Processional. The Golden Hawks’ performance will take place Sunday evening, December 8 at the Main Street USA Train Station.
The choir went through a vigorous audition process and was selected from a pool of applicants that included collegiate, high school, and community choirs across Southern California. Last year, El Dorado was chosen from a pool of over 80 applicants.
“It is a distinguished honor to be chosen for this opportunity again,” Ryan Yoder, Director of Choral Music, said. “If you are an annual pass holder or have the means to come, you don’t want to miss out on this chance to hear and support our Choral Hawks!”
Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional is held just four times a year in the month of December. It is a 45-minute show that presents a musical retelling of “The First Christmas” story through song and scripture, featuring a large choir as the centerpiece of the show. The Disneyland Symphony Orchestra, fanfare trumpets, hand bell ringers, and a celebrity narrator will join El Dorado’s Vocal Ensemble in this joyous holiday tradition.
Way to go, Choral Hawks!
