On October 3, Valencia High School hosted San Clemente High School teachers, counselors, and administrators for an AVID Showcase visit. San Clemente High School was particularly interested in learning about Valencia’s dual AVID-IB Program and how they support students enrolled in two rigorous college preparatory programs.
Classrooms visit included teachers Allison Dixon, David Chung, Tanya Borg, and Dwight Osborne. All teachers showcased various aspects of WICOR, where students engaged and worked collaboratively in courses.
Panelists Mark Stanely, Fred Jenkins, Calen Rau, and Liz Nasouf shared their role in creating rigorous opportunities in a supportive nurturing environment. Additionally, the school’s student panelists Suzette Morales, Ashley Lopez, Miguel Morales, Brennen Cavish, Brendan Rusli, Cleadie Heredia, and Adam Amezcua shared about their name, face, and the story of their journey in preparing to become college graduates, balancing it all.
“Thank you, Corrinna Harnett, for coordinating today, and to the teachers that make Valencia so great,” shared Assistant Principal, Paige Stills.
