Annual Future Ready Day at Valencia High sets aside time for students to plan for success after high school

Future Ready Day at Valencia High.

On November 16, Valencia High School hosted its annual Future Ready Day. Seniors were given the opportunity to complete college applications to educational institutions of their choice. This included a wide variety of University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), community college, military, and out-of-state schools. The school encouraged students to begin their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Dream Act applications. Seniors also had the opportunity to meet with military representatives and career exploration workshops.

The Tigers joined together to celebrate their commitment to their future success with a barbeque in the quad area. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors also had a chance to participate by listening to a keynote presentation that highlighted a story of perseverance and overcoming obstacles for future success.

“Future Ready Day is an annual tradition that represents the college and career culture on our campus,” Assistant Principal Paige Stills shared. “Our teachers, counselors, administrators, and staff are committed to preparing our students now and in the future!”
