October 1 was the start of Venture Academy’s five part career speaker series. The event featured four representatives from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Maintenance, Facilities, and Construction Department — Zachery Perez, Supervisor of Maintenance, Jose Suarez, Supervisor of Custodial, Mario Sandoval, Supervisor of Grounds, and Max Van De Mortal, Supervisor of Maintenance Construction.
All four individuals spoke to the students at Venture Academy about their jobs and the positions that were currently available in their department. They also gave students the opportunity to ask questions.
“Overall, it was a great experience for the students and a few are now interested in a new career,” Coordinator Kelli McFedries said.
