Esperanza High School’s AVID students recently traveled to Fullerton Community College. There, the Aztecs learned about the school and its campus life, and how to transfer to a University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU) following community college. Students took a campus tour and met with a professor for a Q&A session about the biggest differences between college and high school.
AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a nationally-recognized program that helps students navigate the college application process, and build the academic and soft skills needed to succeed in higher education and the workforce of the future.
