On Saturday, November 23, the El Dorado High School Golden Hawk Marching Band and Color Guard competed in the SCSBOA Marching Band Championships. They were one of just 12 schools who qualified for this premier event and went in ranked fourth in the 6A Division.
The Golden Hawks competed against some of the best music programs in Southern California and had a near-flawless performance in front of an estimated crowd of 5,000 people. El Dorado ended up in 2nd place and earned the Silver Medal. All 217 members received a Silver Medal for this accomplishment as another memorable marching band season came to a close.
EDHS Band Director Eric Samson states, “It was a proud moment to see each student wear their medal after the awards ceremony. I hope they keep it as a reminder of what can be accomplished with hard work, commitment, and dedication to whatever they set out to do. Thank you to each performing member, to each staff member who helped create this show, and to our booster organization for their never-ending efforts to support our music program.”
