El Dorado High School’s Mock Trial Co-Captain Colby Bladow was honored with the Judge Henry Moore Outstanding Orator Award at the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County’s Mock Trial Awards Ceremony on Thursday, February 6, 2020. The award, presented by the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, honors the top orator of the 48 teams and nearly 940 students in the Orange County Mock Trial competition.
Colby received near-perfect scores as the lead prosecuting attorney throughout the entirety of the competition and was nominated for recognition by nearly every judge and attorney who saw her perform – one of whom commented, “Seriously excellent. Best Mock Trial attorney I have seen all year and in my memory of prior years. Well-spoken, confident, organized. I really hope she goes to law school.”
In addition to the award and naming on a perpetual trophy, Colby received a $1,000 college scholarship from OTLA in recognition of her tremendous achievement. Way to go, Golden Hawk!
