Valencia High School celebrated college and career readiness during the week of May 3-7. During the Spring Future Ready week event, AVID students decorated the campus with college logo chalk art. The college-going culture buzzed through campus, especially during the College Bingo lunchtime activity, and lunchtime college fair featuring our community college representatives from Santiago and Fullerton college. Mrs. Hughes from the college and career center hosted, “College Knowledge” for students who had questions about post-secondary plans.
Future Ready Week also included virtual college tours in the Freshmen Success and AVID classes. The college and career readiness celebration concluded with a Virtual AVID College Commitment event as well as our Athletic signing day. An added element to the Athletic Signing Day included the Valencia Tiger Tube Live Broadcast for families to tune into.
“We are proud of our students and their future endeavors. Our teachers, counselors, coaches, and support staff have truly made this year meaningful for our students, even given the circumstances. Go Tigers!” Assistant Principal Paige Stills shared.
