On Thursday, May 27, the REACH Foundation held its annual Middle School Track Meet event in Nathan Shapell Memorial Stadium at Yorba Linda High School. The event took place after a yearlong pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Student athletes from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District’s (PYLUSD) seven middle schools competed against each other in events like high jump, long distance running, long jump, sprints, and more. This included the Bernardo Yorba Matadors, Kraemer Cubs, Parkview Panthers, Travis Ranch Trailblazers, Tuffree Falcons, Valadez Eagles, and Yorba Linda Bobcats.
Following each event, medals and ribbons were awarded to the top three finishers as they stood on the winners podium for all to see! All PYLUSD student athletes did an outstanding job at the meet while making their individual schools proud!
This event would not be made possible without the generosity of the REACH Foundation, an all-volunteer, education focused, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in benefit of PYLUSD students district-wide. Much like in years past despite the slight alternations due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the event was a great success and continues to afford REACH the ability to support academics, athletics, and arts in PYLUSD. Thank you, REACH!
